Minnesota Zoo to Host Free Lecture Series Apple Valley, MINN – April 8, 2010 – Looking for a truly wild and educational time? The Minnesota Zoo is excited to host “Our Backyard Lecture Series,” offering a wide variety of topics with specialists offering helpful hints and tricks. The series, sponsored by Minnesota Public Radio, is free to the public. Kicking the series off is Native Plants for Landscaping and Restoration on Thursday, April 29 at 6:30 p.m. Minnesota Zoo Horticulture Supervisor Kim Thomas and Natural Resource Specialist Janet Van Sloun Larson will present guests with the wonderful world of native plants, how they can improve their gardening and affect climate change, and maybe even bring back the endangered Karner Blue Butterfly.
