The bald eagle is a heartwarming conservation success story. On June 29, 2007, after three decades, the United States Government took the bald eagle off the Endangered Species Act’s “threatened” list. The Minnesota-Wisconsin border is one of the nation’s most successful recovery areas.
The Minnesota Zoo is home to two bald eagles. Our Minnesota Trail female broke her wing and cannot fly, and our Wings of Flight Bird Show female couldn’t fend for herself when released into the wild and had to be recaptured. Here at the Zoo, they both receive top-quality care while helping our guests understand and appreciate the importance of conservation.
Your gift will help us provide the best possible care for our bald eagles and for all of the animals at the Minnesota Zoo, while also continuing our conservation efforts both here at home and around the world.
