Puma Park

Puma Park is the largest of our picnic sites, will accommodate several thousand people and is close to the parking lots. This location includes two shelters, several trees and a large recreation area.

The Lion's Den

The Lion’s Den picnic site is surrounded by woods and a scenic pond for a private environment. This location has one shelter, is close to the parking lots and can accommodate up to 300 guests.

Green Acres

Green Acres picnic site is located on the northern Trail, close to the Replay Park play area. This location includes two large tents providing shelter for up to 350 guests.

With your rental of a Minnesota Zoo picnic area, you receive:

  Assistance in planning from Minnesota Zoo staff
  Timeline for picnic planning
  Promotional posters for your company
  Picnic shelter and tables
  Personalized signage at the picnic area

Rental Fee

$150.00 plus admission and catering provided by Lancer catering

Ticket Information

All tickets should be ordered at least two weeks in advance of your visit. A minimum of 65 admission tickets are required.

Reservations:

We offer two picnic times during Zoo hours, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., or 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. You may reserve the time that will work best for your group. Your group has Zoo admission for the entire day. A non-refundable rental fee of $150 is required within 10 business days after confirmation of your reservation to secure the site.

Catering:

All of your catering needs are provided by our exclusive caterer, Lancer Catering. Food and beverage may not be brought on-site or taken off-site.

ADDITIONS

Monorail:

$3.00 per person. The monorail gives riders a bird’s-eye view of the Northern Hemisphere animals, including Bactrian camels, Musk oxen, moose, and Amur tigers. Each naturalist guide’s narrative is structured, yet spontaneous, taking advantage of animal activity and seasonal changes.

IMAX^®:

Enhance your Zoo picnic with a visit to the Great Clips^® IMAX^® Theatre. Please call Kathy at 952.997.9701 for special pricing.

Zoo Bucks:

These special dollars can be used throughout the Zoo to enjoy the many different options we have to offer, including the gift stores, monorail, and kiosks. All Zoo Bucks are sold in $1 increments. They are a great way to add a little extra to your company picnic.
