Dinosaur Internship at the Minnesota Zoo

Be part of our exciting summer special exhibit at the Minnesota Zoo. Sure to thrill guests of all ages are 17 life-size, moving heads, swinging tails and even spitting dinosaurs. Intern responsibilities include staffing our summer special exhibit, interpreting information about these creatures using artifacts and play stations in our Dinosaur Village. You will work side by side with volunteers and zoo staff. Work week is 35- 40 hours per week from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with seven-days-a-week scheduling which will include weekends and holidays.

Summer Internship:

Approximately 400 hours between Memorial Day and Labor Day (start and end dates somewhat flexible). College credit required. Two positions available.

Duties to include:

• Experience the zoo behind-the-scenes
• Interact with a variety of zoo staff and volunteers
• Interpret fun facts to our guests about dinosaurs ranging from Acrocanthosaurus to a Tyrannosaurus Rex
• Enhance your public speaking skills
• Present programs for zoo visitors
• Gain experience with different styles of interpretation
• Become familiar with the management of a large volunteer program
• Spend your day outdoors along our DINOSAURS! Exhibit
• Training provided
