Apple Valley, MINN–Looking for a truly wild time? Become a volunteer at the Minnesota Zoo and meet new friends, learn all about animals, and provide an invaluable service to the Zoo and its visitors.
If spending your day amidst a lush tropical rainforest, watching dolphins glide through crystal blue water, or traveling to northern Minnesota excites you – you can do it all by volunteering at the Minnesota Zoo. We are seeking adults interested in volunteering two to four times a month. While candidates available on Sundays are desirable, any day-of-the-week commitment is acceptable. After a shadow day at the Zoo, participants attend an orientation session on Wednesday, September 26 from 6 p.m.– 8:30 p.m. and training classes for five Saturdays at the Zoo beginning on October 13 from 9 a.m.– 4 p.m.
Adult interpretive volunteer experiences include staffing information stations, assisting with classes for preschoolers through adults, helping with special events, interpreting on exhibit trails, assisting guests at dolphin shows and more! To be accepted into the program, potential volunteers must schedule a shadow day at the Zoo and be willing to make a one-year commitment.
Space is limited, so call the Minnesota Zoo’s Volunteer Office today at 952.431.9588 for more information or visit mnzoo.org and click on Volunteers. The Minnesota Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Look for the AZA logo whenever you visit a zoo or aquarium as your assurance that you are supporting a facility dedicated to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for you, and a better future for all living things. With its more than 200 accredited members, AZA is a leader in global wildlife conservation, and your link to helping animals in their native habitats. For more information visit aza.org
