School Event Days

MATH DAY

Wednesday November 10, 2010
9:00am to 1:30pm

Math Day has been designed to inspire students grades 4-12 to learn more about how math are applied in the zoo workplace. Through both professional and student-led activity stations, students will answer grade appropriate math problems related to a wide variety of animal issues, exhibit upkeep, and everyday life at the Minnesota Zoo.

Geography Day

Friday, November 19, 2010
9:00am to 1:00pm

Come celebrate national Geography Week here at the Minnesota Zoo. Visit a variety of interactive stations throughout the Zoo showcasing our worldly animals and the My Wonderful World program. Students are given passports to assist them in their travels as they learn about some of the world’s Biodiversity Hotspots, the variety of worldwide ecosystems and the animals that inhabit them.

Fees: $3.00 per student plus applicable admission. Register this fall by calling 952-431-9218. Register online by clicking on the button at the top of the page.
Regular $3.00 per student fee will be waived and deducted from your confirmation invoice.

World Language Days

What animal is called el oso del Sol? How about la castor or der delphin? Plan a field trip to the Zoo with your language students and discover fascinating facts about these and other Zoo animals, all in the language of the day. You and your students can visit over 30 animal stations throughout the Zoo. Upper level language students use music, costumes, and props to interpret the animal exhibits. Your students each receive a "passport" which gets stamped after listening to the presenter at each station. All days are geared toward language students in grades 7-12 and elementary immersion students.

EARTHFEST

9:00am to 2:00pm

Come celebrate EARTH DAY at the Minnesota Zoo! Learn about why the earth is a fascinating place to call home! See some of the animals that share our planet with us (both near and far). Many local environmental agencies with demonstrations and displays will be on hand to show our appreciation and help the earth.
