School Event Days Wednesday November 10, 2010 Math Day has been designed to inspire students grades 4-12 to learn more about how math are applied in the zoo workplace. Through both professional and student-led activity stations, students will answer grade appropriate math problems related to a wide variety of animal issues, exhibit upkeep, and everyday life at the Minnesota Zoo. World Language Days French: Tuesday, February 8, 2011 What animal is called el oso del Sol? How about la castor or der delphin? Plan a field trip to the Zoo with your language students and discover fascinating facts about these and other Zoo animals, all in the language of the day. You and your students can visit over 30 animal stations throughout the Zoo. Upper level language students use music, costumes, and props to interpret the animal exhibits. Your students each receive a "passport" which gets stamped after listening to the presenter at each station. All days are geared toward language students in grades 7-12 and elementary immersion students. For information on upper level language student presenters call 952.431.9260. Learn about why the earth is a fascinating place to call home! See some of the animals that share our planet with us (both near and far). Many local environmental agencies with demonstrations and displays will be on hand to show our appreciation and help the earth. Fees: $3.00 per student plus applicable admission.
