Tax benefits of attending Zoo Education programs

These classes are especially designed for young people (ages four–eight) and their favorite adults. Our activities, excursions, crafts and games will make learning fun for young and old alike.  The whole Zoo is our classroom and visits to "behind-the-scenes" areas with zookeepers and trainers will make each class special.

All Family Zoo Adventure classes take place at the Zoo from
1:00-3:00 p.m.

Fees:
Zoo Members: $18.50 per participant
(minimum of 1 adult, 1 child = $37)
Non-Members: $25 per participant
(minimum of 1 adult, 1 child = $50)

Dolphin Magic Dolphin Magic February 26 What is it about dolphins that make them so special? Their intelligence? Their big smile? We'll explore this dolphin "magic" through classroom activities and going poolside with a dolphin trainer. For the Love of Lemurs For the Love of Lemurs March 10 Stink fight! Visit our ring-tailed and red-ruffed lemurs and learn about their unique behaviors in this exciting class. Our tropical exhibit highlights these engaging long-tailed primates from Madagascar.	March 10
Magnificent Marsupials Magnificent Marsupials March 17 This class explores the unique world of marsupials. We will be visited in the classroom by the only marsupial that lives in North America. Then we will make dinner for a kangaroo with a zookeeper who will explain how we care for our tree 'roos. Our craft will come in its own pouch.	March 17
Wild About Wolves Wild About Wolves March 25 Let's get together for a "howlin" good time as we learn all about the wonders of the gray wolf. A keeper will join our class to help us take a closer look at the wolves on the Minnesota Trail, explain how wolves behave and what pack life is like.	March 25
Penguin Party! Penguin Party! April 7 Penguins don’t fly but their popularity is soaring. Find out all about these black and white birds by diving into some fun activities and exploration. You’ll learn all about the unique Penguins of the African Coast and how they differ from Antarctic penguins. We promise you’ll have a swimmingly good time!	April 7
Otter Madness Otter Madness April 14 Explore the mad and wonderful world of sea otters. Learn what these creatures of the sea eat and what they do for fun. Don't miss out-it will be "otterly" fantastic.	April 14
Simply Sheep at the FARM Simply Sheep at the FARM April 22 Come explore the woolly wonders of sheep at the Wells Fargo Family Farm at the Minnesota Zoo. Program activities include a sheep-shearing demonstration, carding wool, making felt balls and feeding our sheep.	April 22
Dr. Zoolittle Dr. Zoolittle May 6 How would you like to take care of 2,700 animals? Do you know what a radiograph is? Come meet a veterinarian and experience what they do in a "typical" day. There is no behind-the-scenes portion for this experience, but a veterinarian will bring an animal to our classroom to illustrate a typical examination.	May 6
Shark Alert Shark Alert May 19 Learn about this misunderstood predator of the ocean. An aquarist will give us a behind-the-scenes look at the Shark Reef and talk about how we care for our sharks.	May 19
