"As a result of going to Costa Rica I was awarded an Environmental and Outdoor Program Award amounting to $6,000 from Northland College. That has made a HUGE difference for me to be able to attend the college I want."
- Mikaela from Wheeler, WI

"I have an incredible amount of memories from my zoo trip. I even wrote one of my college admissions essays about my experience and with it was accepted into the Honors Program at the University of Tampa in Florida. The amount of knowledge I took from the trip surpassed what I had ever imagined I would have learned."
- Becky, 2012 participant

"I would like the thank the Minnesota Zoo for making such life-changing experiences possible. My Zoo Camps and my Florida Keys trip have been some of my fondest memories. I attribute my drive to improve the world around me and lives of animals to the education I've gotten from the Zoo."
- Allison, 2010 participant

"If it were not for the experience I gained from volunteering and traveling with the education programs at the MN Zoo, I would not have had such a strong resume for my volunteering experiences. Because I took the steps as a teen to take advantage of all the opportunities that the MN Zoo has to offer, I had little to no problem getting into volunteer programs that would have eventually gotten me an internship and job."
