Belize: A Rain Forest and Ocean Field Study

Join a Minnesota Zoo naturalist in partnership with Programme for Belize to put wildlife conservation in action. We will experience many things, including:

  • Snorkeling in a marine reserve
  • Sustainable forest project
  • Night hikes and
  • Canoeing with crocodiles.

Date: October 19-24, 2010
Land Cost: $1200 (airfare not included)
Ages: Students entering 10th-12th grade

Tour Coordinator/Guide – Melanie Sorensen is the Program Coordinator for teens and adults at the Minnesota Zoo where she has worked for 12 years. As an avid international traveler and guide Melanie’s favorite part of guiding trips is introducing others to the wild places and animals she loves. She holds a B.S. degree in Environmental Science and a Masters in Environmental Education and Natural Sciences.
