"The Minnesota Zoo trips have inspired me to travel and to pursue a career in wildlife conservation. I think they have shaped who I have become. I have made some amazing friends on these trips that inspire me every day. We constantly bounce ideas off of each other about future plans and some of our current research endeavors. I wish I could travel with the Minnesota Zoo forever!” "Both before and after the trip I was struggling with choosing a major in college. I had started out in the sciences and was at the time in journalism. Through my experiences on the college trip to Kenya and talking with our Zoo guide about her work, I decided to create my own major that combined my dedication to the environment and education – science communications." "I didn't think working in a zoo was for me until I went on these trips and realized all the good the MN Zoo does. We helped plant fig trees in Costa Rica and I didn't know the zoo helped groups around the world working for conservation like the one we worked for. I'm now leaning towards a job in a zoo because I want to help the zoo continue to run smoothly and effectively.”
