Species
The red ruffed lemur is found in the canopy of the dense rainforest
on the Masoala Peninsula in northeastern Madagascar. They are
primarily frugivores (fruit eaters) but also consume flowers,
leaves and nectar. Any disturbance to its rainforest habitat poses
a risk to the red ruffed lemur due to its dependence on large
fruiting trees, which are the first targeted for cutting.
