Golden Lion Tamarin

SSP species/Endangered Species

Description: Golden lion tamarins are small primates. They are commonly called "kings of the jungle" because their manes resemble lions manes. Their body length is 7.9-13.2 inches, their tail length is 12.4-15.7 inches. Females weigh 12.7-28 ounces and males weigh 15.4-25 ounces. Nearly all golden lion tamarins are owned by the Brazilian government.
