Description: Head and body length: 61 cm (24 in); tail:
30 cm (11.8 in); weight: 2.7-5.4 kg (6-12 lbs). The coat is usually
dark brown, occasionally with a gray or ashy tint. Under parts
usually a paler brown, and throat grayish or whitish. The claws
are very small and do not project beyond the digital pads. Webbing
on feet is different from river otters.
