Description: The weight ranges from 2 – 9 lbs and are about 20 inches long with an inch long tail. Females tend to be slightly larger than males. The thickest hairs on the body are in the posterior part of the back which can be raised up until they stand out straight when alarmed. The hind foot has three toes with hoof-like claws giving excellent traction for a quick get-away.
