Watch fishers for their tree-climbing, hunting, and agility. They are constantly
on the move and are also one of the few animals that kill and eat porcupine.
Fishers almost disappeared because of trapping and logging practices, but
now they are doing well in the northern forests.
Description: Head and body length: 49-61.5 cm (19-24 in);
tail: 34-42.5 cm (13-17 in); weight: 6.8-8.16 kg (15-18 lbs);
dark brown with grayish foreparts and blackish rump, tail and
legs; broad flat head narrowing to pointed face and nose; rounded
ears; heavily curved claws on feet; weasel-like shape, but larger
and heavier; dense, coarse fur; males are larger than females.
