Rose-breasted Cockatoo

Description: The adult's forehead, crown, and nape of neck are white with pink through the base of the feathers. The foremost feathers on the forehead form an erectile crest which is raised and lowered depending on the bird's temperament. The rump, secondary wing coverts, lower abdomen and vent are a pale gray. The face, neck and most underparts, including the underwing coverts are rosy pink. The tail is dark gray, the bill is cream colored and the legs are gray. The male's eyes are brown, the female's are red. Juvenile is duller with more grey and brown eyes.

Similar species: The Pink or Major Mitchell's Cockatoo (C. leadbeateri) is the only cockatoo easily confused with the Galah. It is lighter overall in color with a prominent orange and red crest and a bright pink forehead.
